POST OAK Partners was founded in February of 1982 and has since arranged equity and debt placements on income properties throughout the United States. Jim Mahoney headed the institutional placement office in New York City for five years before returning to Houston, Texas. Additional offices for Post Oak Partners were formerly located in Newport Beach & Los Angeles, California.

A member of the Urban Land Institute since 1986, Jim Mahoney has participated on ULI councils. Mahoney’s mortgage banking career started in the Houston office of a Chicago based mortgage lender; Jim’s banking career began as a trust officer with First City Bank of Austin upon graduation. A past member of the Young Men’s Business League of Austin, Jim was a volunteer for four years at the Boy’s Club in South Austin. Mahoney has more recently served on the board of trustees for The Regis School of the Sacred Heart in Houston, Texas. Jim Mahoney is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance & attended the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
